50 years anniversary

Out of concern for our audiences, our staff, and all enthusiasts who work with our performances around the country, and due to the corona virus, covid-19,  Tyst Teater 50 years is postponed to November 21, 2020. We are striving for a similar program that was set up for the original celebration and is now working on booking artistic teams and artists. Have you purchased a ticket? Your ticket is still valid. Click here for more information.

This year, the deaf culture arts in Sweden celebrates 50 years! In 1970, the free theatre group was formed at Västanvik Folke High School in Leksand, which came to be the Tyst Teater and became a part of Rikstatern (the National Theater) in 1977. In 2020, Tyst Teater is celebrating half a century of groundbreaking performing arts in Swedish Sign Language.
